Elite Figure

from $250.00

Elite Figure categories have several classes, all of which are judged based on the same criteria. All of the aspects of the physique are important when judging figure. Competitors in these classes are expected to display a high to very high degree of muscularity and condition. The overall size of the competitor becomes more of a contributing factor to the final placings when considered alongside the proportion of the physique. A competitor who is out of proportion, no matter what size, will struggle to find a top three placing against smaller competitors who are better proportioned.

Figure competitors complete three separate rounds of judging wherein the panel will determine the winner based on the various aspects of the physiques on stage. The first round is the 60 second individual free posing routine. The second and third rounds are judged in groups; the Symmetry Round (quarter turns) and the Compulsory Posing (muscularity) round.

Judging Criteria

Physical Aspects:

Muscularity – the amount of visible muscle on a competitor.

Condition – the definition or separation of individual muscles, and muscle groups.

Size – the overall size of the physique, or parts of the physique, relative to the competitor’s height.

Shape – the aesthetic quality and curvature of individual muscle groups.

Proportion – the relative size of one individual part of the physique as compared to another.

Symmetry – the relative proportion of the left and right sides of the physique.

Balance – the relative proportion of the lower and upper halves of the physique.

In addition to the physical aspects of judging, competitors should also consider the importance of their Stage Presence. That is the confidence, and overall positive energy they project while on stage. This is especially important for Model categories. Each one of these aspects plays a vital role, and depending on the category, may be weighted differently in terms of judging the physique.

HOW IS NOVICE DEFINED: A NOVICE is defined as an athlete who has never won a contest or been invited to or competed in a National Final in any previous season, or an athlete who has never placed in the top 3 in an open division in any season.

Runway Model

This category is OPEN to all athletes and also to the general modelling world – while NOT judged on conditioning and proportions it is a good category for off season ladies and gentlemen who still want to have some stage fun and keep their confidence up. The Runway Model must NOT do Bikini or Fitness posing, it is purely runway walk – it will judged on the Model who best shows the garment they are modelling. The dress code is “long evening wear” for ladies and “suit and bow tie (James Bond style) for men. There will be a catwalk at the end of the stage so practice that strut!

Swimsuit Model

Female Swimsuit Model is an open division for ALL Female Athletes. This category is judged in a one piece swimsuit and the swimsuit needs to flatter the body shape of the wearer and fit well. Symmetry, proportions and stage presentation are high on the list of what the judges are looking for. The ladies will come out in a group and line up at the back of the stage until they are called out singularly to show their style, creativity and pazzazz, the group will then be called to the front of the stage and they will be taken through quarter turns to judge symmetry and proportions.
