Classic Physique

from $250.00

The Classic Physique shall display visible separation within the abdominal region, from top to bottom; Clean delineation between all three heads of the deltoids, triceps and biceps, clean lines between the quadriceps muscle groups and hamstrings with full shapely and symmetrical muscle bellies.

Classic Physique is a division that pays homage to the aesthetics of the past, showcasing the grace and elegance of lean physiques. This category focuses on wide v-tapered backs, rounded three-dimensional shoulders, and chiseled abs. To impress the judges, competitors must deliver a smooth and well-choreographed routine, incorporating a variety of poses. While there is room for creativity, mandatory poses must be included to showcase the complete development of the physique.

This division consists of three rounds, starting with a 60-second free posing round that incorporates the mandatory poses (MUSIC WILL NEED TO BE PROVIDED 1 WEEK PRIOR TO COMPETITION). The symmetry round follows, where competitors showcase their physique via quarter turns. The compulsory round then includes six classic poses: front double biceps, side chest (any side), side tricep (any side), double back biceps, abdominals (with vacuum - a bonus), and the favorite classic pose of the athlete's choice. For stage attire in the Classic Physique division, competitors wear European swimwear, completing the elegant and timeless look.

Judging Criteria

Physical Aspects:

Muscularity – the amount of visible muscle on a competitor.

Condition – the definition or separation of individual muscles, and muscle groups.

Size – the overall size of the physique, or parts of the physique, relative to the competitor’s height.

Shape – the aesthetic quality and curvature of individual muscle groups.

Proportion – the relative size of one individual part of the physique as compared to another.

Symmetry – the relative proportion of the left and right sides of the physique.

Balance – the relative proportion of the lower and upper halves of the physique.

In addition to the physical aspects of judging, competitors should also consider the importance of their Stage Presence. That is the confidence, and overall positive energy they project while on stage. This is especially important for Model categories. Each one of these aspects plays a vital role, and depending on the category, may be weighted differently in terms of judging the physique.
